This is MAGA

Fighting for Freedom and Democracy

This is how we keep our freedom, and our democracy.

Things we can do now

Contact your representative or senator

Tell them specifically what you want, and more importantly, what you don't want. Tell them you will be paying attention to what they do. Our Congresspeople need to hear from non-MAGA people more often. They need to know that when the President goes too far, they are constitutionally bound to put the brakes on and question the executive branch. But they need to know that they won't be voted out of office for doing so. If MAGA is doing all the talking, then anyone who stands up to MAGA will end up in the same situation as Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger, they will stand up and then be voted out.

Don't let hate or crazy be the only voice of America We need to speak up now, and we need to do it more often.

Thinking about voting is a tough thing to do just after a terribly polarizing election. But this is one of the most consequential and easiest steps that you can take. For instances, when you contact your representative or senator, they may ask if you are registered and if you have voted. If you haven't registered, they will not take you as seriously as a MAGA extremists.

Setting limits on social media and politics for you and your family

Social media has become a dominant mechanism for taking in news media. But this is having psychological impacts on a society-wide basis. We the people need to advocate for each other on the best way to consume the news that doesn't simply drive our emotional centers crazy at the expense of rational thought. We cannot keep sacrificing hours of our lives each day listening to what very well may be propaganda. Our children can't either. This is something that can cause damage at every level of society now and our immediate future.

Long term goals

Creating a 21st Century America for all

At its core, there are significant and legitimate problems that Americans are facing. Its to the point where it feels like people no longer have a place in the American society, whether it be culturally and/or economically. For MAGA, this has been the seed that their social media machine amplifies into extremism through divisiveness, hate, conspiracy theory, all of which create a very specific image of the American society they want to build.

Everyone else has been stuck in 20th century politics in trying to get their message out, and its falling to penetrate into the political discussion during elections. There simply hasn't been a cohesive policy set from any other party that can counter the MAGA movement. This is something that needs to be addressed before the midterm elections. We need "A New Deal" or a "Great Society" message that takes into account 21st century issues. Protections against AI and automation taking jobs, comprehensive day care and housing shortage strategies, assessing care for the elderly as boomers retire and what happens afterwards, social security, the list goes on. It needs to be comprehensive, but it needs to be marketed like we are in the 21st century. Or people will continue to gravitate towards the easy message that MAGA offers, no matter how horrible the consequences may be.

Setting standards on how Americans take in news
